This tour offers a really nice view towards Muen which the highest mountain top in the municipality of Ringebu. There are some fun descents to Mysætrin.

The nice view towards Muen and to the southern part of the mountain. If you feel adventurous it’s possible to leave the groomed trail at Mysætrin as it’s a great canyon 500 meters from the trail.

Wide open and hilly terrain on the high mountain plateau.

Everyone that are able to do cross country skiing and to be in control down the descents, plowing or in the track, are able to make this tour but be aware that the last descent down to the old mountain farm Mysætrin is steep. There are possibilities of making the tour longer or shorter if desired.

The starting point is at the parking lot at Venabu Fjellhotell. From here the tour goes towards Stormyra-Saltashaugen-Mykroken-Brennflya-Veslefjell and then back through Mysætrin-Myåsen and Myvegen. The tour ends at the same place as it started.

There is a crossroad at Stormyra, go east towards Saltashaugen. Cross the road and keep to the southeast and Brennflya. At Veslefjellet there is a crossroad from the 1st of February as the Trolløypa is being groomed. Go southwest to Myåsen. At Myåsen there is a crossroad where you go straight ahead, north towards Venabu.

The tour as a whole is 12 km. There are possibilities of making it longer or shorter if desired. It’s possible to connect with the trail called Trimløypa among others.

Here you will find a variated and fun terrain for skiing. Great ski trails. Nice views towards Muen. There is a great canyon close to the old mountain farm Mysætrin.

Bring a map of the ski trails; this is to be bought at the tourism establishments in the destination. The tour is clearly signposted. Take a look at Skisporet.no before you get out, making sure that the trail is groomed. If you care about your ski-equipment it’s recommended to take your skis of when crossing a road. Bring your camera – The mountain Muen offers a very nice scene all year around with its characteristic shape.
