During the pre-Christmas season, you can experience sevral unique and traditional Christmas markets. The first weekend of December, thousands of visitors flow from near and far when Maihaugen opens the doors for their annual Christmas market.
In Lillehammer you can both hunt for goodies from visual artists, glassblowers, ceramics and clothing designers at the annual Christmas market at "the Factory", or you can venture into the city center and visit the annual traditional Christmas market at Sigrid Undset's place.
The old real Christmas atmosphere is also found in Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson's home that is decorated for Christmas and invites you to a Christmas Market at Aulestad.
